FAKE 7 DAY 'FREE' TRIAL

Joined after following links on another app (FB) to an eharmony 7 day FREE trial. Signed up for the year option, which it appeared funds would only be paid AFTER the expiration of the 7 days (if not canceled before). After the 2nd or 3rd day, just happened to notice in my acct, they'd already w/drawn the first of the 4 payments (before the 7 day free trial ended). After waiting on hold with eharmony for 45-50 mins, a person finally answered.
However, he had a heavy French accent and was speaking a million miles an hour, yet barely over a whisper. Very frustrating trying to understand him. He advised he'd escalate the matter after telling me over and over, like a damn robot reading a script, how their policy wouldn't allow for a refund of the 1 year plan selected. Seriously?? I replied to the email from the 'supervisor' who also, like a robot, reiterated they couldn't refund my money for not having matches, etc. Hello? Not my issue. My issue, which was detailed in my email very clearly - zero ambiguity - is eharmony taking money from my card during a 'free' trial and not only refusing to refund it, but refusing to even acknowledge it!!! They will continue and take the next 3 payments, also, I was told in her response (from Daniela P.). No wonder their mgrs don't reveal their full names! I would like to consider a CLASS ACTION... there are many of us impacted by this farce. If they steal $400-$500 per person every year with this 'free trial' scam, that's a pretty hefty sum for nothing! In the meantime:
THIS IS A SCAM... DO NOT USE EHARMONY, IT'S FRAUDULENT AND THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU!!!

Beware with the payment, or linking to them

They have charged 1 year in advance, when I applied ti one month trial and they don’t show will to solve the problem. I will not use the app, it’s nothing for me, but in my short 2 day experience, they have no geographic accuracy, no proper filters in this matter.

Do not use this site

Do not use this site. I thought I was subscribing to a premium dating site. Their customer service/care is very poor. Despite suggesting that there would be many contacts in my area this was not the case.
I stopped visiting the site but overlooked the auto renew in their small print. They renewed for a year at a cost of £358 which they could not collect as I had changed my credit card. They are threatening to use a Debt collection agency to collect this sum despite me saying I do not require to use their site as I had found a new partner on another site. Why should I pay £358 for a service that I do not require. I cannot access the site to delete my pic/profile which no doubt they will continue to display to suggest that I am an active member. I will post further posts as it does not appear they will back down and keep sending further chasing emails.

Horrible

Horrible. I canceled my a auto renewal subscription and it “magically” auto renewed and they won’t do anything about it. They didn’t even notify me that they were going to charge my card. Everyone I have an auto payment with sends an email before the charge. But not them. They’re scamming people for money.

Customer support seems Not to know how…

Customer support seems Not to know how to fix their sms verification system. They say to have a 24/7 customer service but takes 48 hrs for them to get back and still not fixing the issue. They also have preference on certain members over others on what can be posted like pictures.

This site says they are for LOVE

This site says they are for LOVE. ALL they are for is MONEYYYYYYYY. They DO NOT allow you to try the site first. Which should be completely FREE until you find it to be beneficial. NOPE!!! You can not even see a profile picture until you agree to 30 per month. It is a ripoff that reys on lonely singles. STAYYY FAR AWAY!!!!!

I cancelled and they still charged me

I signed up for 1 year, immediately cancelled the auto renew, fast forward 1 year and I see a charge on my credit card, I contact them the day after the charge was posted and they refused to refund, instead offered 50% discount. Wait 3 days and see they charged the 50% instead of refunding. I contacted them and they fixed the single over charge of 50%, but I'm still on the hook for the other half of a service I cancelled. I'm so angry at them!

Wish I’d looked here first.

Wish I’d looked here first, bs dating site, modern day Robin Hood, why aren’t the government protecting people from this scamming website, and other sites like it, shocking, widened search scale to as far as possible, still the same people pop up. Scammers.

Be careful, cancelling only allows you to cancel auto renewal (another scam) you have to email them to get a cancellation within the 14 days, and full refund.

If you cancel your subscription within the 14-day
cancellation period, we will refund to you all
payments that we have received from you for the
cancelled Premium Membership without undue
delay and in any event no later than 14 days from
the day on which we were informed of your
decision to cancel your subscription. 9 Oct 2020

Q:

How effective is this on dating people you just chat with random people or e harmony recomand and help to date which is better ?

A:

I got zero dates in the year I subscribed. Lots of men looked at me, but generally speaking, they just didn't respond.

by Hayes888 - February 13, 2022

A:

It's random people who answer a survey similarly to your answers. I found it to be very ineffective.

by Bradley Bowman - October 06, 2020

A:

Very bad results plus so many with no photo versus other sites they won't post unless there is a photo.

Q:

I want my money back this is awful!

A:

Yes I want my money back from service I never received.

by Ellen83 - March 30, 2020

A:

Agreed! But good luck with a refund! I tried on several attempts to no avail. Now they are charging me two remaining installments for a service I no longer am using. Arrogant organization.

by Andrew A. - November 18, 2019

A:

Eharmonys phone help did everything possible to deny me any satisfaction or compromise. Truly an awful experience. I ended up complaining to my credit card company. PLEASE. If you had a bad or unethical experience, complain so that there are fewer victims of such nasty, predatory companies.

Q:

How do I prevent auto renewal?

A:

Use a pre paid credit card and only load the amount of the subscription you want onto the card, works every time and they NEVER get your real bank info

by Sean H. - May 18, 2017

A:

You don't. One site said "$11.00 for 12 months". To me, that means $11.00 for the year. It doesn't. To them it means $11.00 for each month for a year, or $132.00. Deceptive advertising. You have to cancel your credit card to get rid of them! Thieves.

by Ryan R. - December 12, 2016

A:

Avoid eharmony. Truly, they lack ethics and that should not be rewarded.

Answer This Question

Q:

Is there any way to get my money back? I'm VERY unhappy with the service.

A:

Yes, take the jerks to court in a class action suit.

by Georgia484 - June 26, 2022

A:

I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
